Omaha has many options to choose from for your aquatic experiences such as leisure pools, traditional pools, and spray grounds. To further enhance recreational swimming, the city offers "Learn to Swim" classes, lifeguard training, and water aerobics year round. We take pride in having one of the nation's best aquatic programs and are dedicated to demonstrating excellence in the management and development of our aquatic facilities.

Lifeguard Classes
Must be 15 years old, complete a 300 yard continuous swim using the front crawl or breast stroke, tread water for 2 minutes using only legs, and a timed event for 1 minute and 40 seconds, consisting of a surface dive, swimming 20 yards, retrieving a 10-pound brick, return swim 20 yards and exit the pool.

Omaha Recreational Swim League 
Register under the Activity Registration button(search ORSL once you are in Activity Registration) or in person at any City of Omaha Community Center. No registrations will be taken at the pools. You can only register immediate household family members for the league. The cost is $45 per swimmer and includes a t-shirt. Registrations after June 19th will NOT receive a t-shirt.

Pool Passes
Pool passes are great for any time of year. We carry a variety of passes, both annual and seasonal and we also offer an Adventure Card which can be used at our indoor pools. Single-visit prices can be found here.

A Summer of fun awaits you at Omaha Pools this season. From doggie dips to dance parties, we have everything you need for an exciting and affordable summer. Don't forget to follow us on Facebook and Twitter for more events and discounts this summer!

Omaha spraygrounds serve as a fun and interactive gathering place during the hot summer months. A variety of spray features appeal to toddlers and older children, with parents often joining in the fun. Water spraygrounds have distinct advantages over swimming pools in that they are cost-effective and low maintenance, and water-play activities extend well beyond normal pool season. Hours are 9:00am to 8:00pmdaily, Memorial Day (May 25th) through Labor Day (Sept. 7th), weather permitting.

Swim Lessons
The City of Omaha aquatic and swimming programs provide opportunities for fitness, skill development, and recreational fun.  A variety of Learn to Swim classes take place throughout the winter at MontclairMockingbird, and Common Ground Community Center. Classes are 30 minutes each with a total of 8 classes. Float 4 Life classes are 15 minutes with one child to one instructor.

Water Safety Programs
Josh the Otter- The Josh the Otter Water Safety & Awareness program is presented by the City of Omaha Parks & Recreation Department in cooperation with Children’s Hospital & Medical Center. Josh the Otter appearances and storytime sessions will be available at the followingCity of Omaha pool locationsthis summer.  On days, that Josh the Otter has multiple programs he will start at the first location at 1:00 pm and then go to his next pool.

Float 4 Life- City of Omaha offers Float 4 Life classes throughout the summer at the following locations throughout the pool season. You must register online to attend. 

Hands-Only CPR- If you were in a situation where someone needed CPR would you know what to do? Let us help you be prepared, learn Hands-Only CPR from the City of Omaha Parks and Recreation Department. Hands-Only CPR is a potentially lifesaving technique involving non-mouth to mouth contact. Free sessions will be conducted at various City of Omaha pool locations during the pool season.
